BG3 under secret negotiations

Sometimes, the flop of one great game can lead to the birth of another.

The guys at Piranha Bytes developed the very popular, yet very much underrated, because miserably managed, Gothic series. Currently, there are secret negotiations going on for PB to write BG3.

The totally incompetent publisher Jowood Productions arguably holds the rights for Gothic 4, without having a developer for it. Jowood has a history of flopping one great title after another, including the Spellforce and Guild series.

Deep Silver (Koch Media) is the new PB publisher and the new project is very secret indeed. Because the negotiations are still going on, no party is willing to comment. In the meantime, PB IS already working on a prototype.

BG3, if materializing among the members of the etremely productive and creative PB team, will become THE new mark for all adventure games.

Baldur's Gate has created a new genre, BG3 will redefine this genre, leaving even Oblivion in the dust. However, it might take as much as 18 months to achieve this goal and who knows what will happen in the mean time...

We already have a rumor thread. Please use that. If it's genuine news, it'll be posted in our GameBanshee News section by the management, for comment.

Oh, and when posting rumors? Please list your sources. Thanks.
