I was doing this quest, but accidently made a wrong offering. Right order, wrong object. Now, my question is, is this quest botched? Can I recuperate by starting all over again, or just by starting at the god where I made the mistake?
Thanks in advance!

I'm almost sure you can start all over again, although I've never done so myself. As to whether or not you can correct your current mistake I am uncertain. I may try and find out, but I'm not sure if I have a save suitable for the task.
Hmm... It seems I have a difficulty making a wrong offering though. The altar seems to reject any other object i try to sacrifice. Can you tell me how I can sacrifice a wrong object?

Hhmmm, apparently, I had the order of the gods mixed up, so I made sacrifices in the wrong order. I'll just start all over again. Does that Litani & Passion Root respawn?

Li'Tani can be bought from the elven trader in Ashbury and passion root is sometimes sold by herbalists i think. I'm always concerned about the heartstones and lava rocks though...

Heart Stones? Do you mean Lava Stones?

No, the things you find lying around in the Bedokaan village... I think there's only 3 or so...

Ah, yes. Considering you probably use one to make the Iron Key, it could be tricky.
Oh, well, then this quest will be something for my technologist to complete, not this Fighter/Mage.

People say mages are boring, but the teleport spell has saved me so many times I forget to speak with someone, bring an item or whatever... I don't know why but even when I get Blackroot, Ashbury and Tarant on my map I seem to get the "I don't know where should I go?" line with the sea captains. I suppose using the railways with a tech guy is reasonable, but then again you have to drop the dog

Fighter/Mage are by far the most powerful character in Arcanum. Like you said, the Teleport rocks.
On the train, it's kind of ridiculous that you can travel with a Fire Elemental, but not with a dog...

You're supposed to die when you step on it, since you yourself are the last sacrifice.

Neither Your affinity, aligment, skill choise or level should matter in this case. Check with
Arcanum: Of Steamworks & Magick Obscura @ GameBanshee and make sure you did it all in the right order.

Sorry for reviving this old thread but i have the same issue with the final blessing. I play a dwarven technologist with max tech aptitude. I have done all sacrifices in the ancient gods quest in the correct order (all three circles are noted as completed in the blessings and curses cathegory). When i step on the altar of velorien the following things happen:
My character gets his health and fatigue drained and dies.
I get the message that i have recieved the blessing of velorien.
The blessing tries to revive me by restoring my health and fatigue.
The problem is the last part. My character gets half his fatigue restored but none of his health and shortly thereafter the game over-screen appears. I have noted that the resist spell animation (the one you get if, say, virgil tries to heal you if you are tech) appears when the blessing tries to ressurect me. It seems to me that my character cant get revived because the blessings healing is magical.
Is there any known solution to this issue or do i have to skip the final blessing?
*Edit* Found the answer to my question in an older thread maaaaany pages back. It seems that max tech aptitude does indeed screw up the blessings ability to resurrect the player */edit*

Well if you are technologist you should use technological items to revive yourself. Try to give one of your followers either Reanimator (found schematic) or Restore Life (sold in Tarant), when you die they just run towards you and revive you. That way you are alive and have blessing. It worked for me
