I've been looking at some 360 RPGs. How does this one stack up? Is it fun? Worth a shot?

Subjective of course, it helps if you tell us what kind of games you like. Personally I say Overlord is absolutely worth it. It's original, witty and fun. I of course, enjoyed Dungeon Keeper a lot as well.

Thanks. I like a variety of different types of RPGs. In particular, I like a good story, characters to interact with, and a game that is more than just hack and slash. I'd be interested to hear how the game plays.

Very well. First of all, I'm assuming you read the basic info on wikipedia. I wouldn't look at Overlord like it's an RPG. It definitely doesn't fit well in any of the major genres. It's more like a tactical puzzle game. The gameplay mostly consist of sending groups of minions to perform various tasks like killing your enemies, putting out fires, looting, pillaging, etc. You can run in yourself swing an axe, throw some fireballs, things like that, but in general you're not the one doing the fighting.

There's a story and though it's certainly amusing, the game isn't focused on it too much. It's more about the funny characters and silly remarks.

I may give it a whirl. There are a shortage of anything resembling RPGs on the 360s, and I've not been in the mood for the Japanese ones. Overlord seems like a frothy, fun game with a combination of RPG and strategy elements. Thanks for the input. I welcome any further thoughts or opinions.

I really liked Overlord as it had great dialogue and a new view to the fantasy. It's a good change to normal fantasy. The expansion sucked, though

I thoroughly enjoyed overlord, albeit on the pc, always looking forward to see what amusing comments would be made next. Heavy on the humour and easy on the brain! Got the expansion but not installed it yet.

Have you tried blue dragon? I know its a japaneses type rpg but i think still worth a look.also lost odessy has just been released.
