Hi guys,

do you know if Edwin is only available if I ally with the Shadow Thieves? As far as I can remember he is in Mae'Var's compound, but that is not accessible until I get a quest from Renald Bloodscalp to purge it, is that right?
So what if I choose Bodhi, will I never be able to get Edwin into my party, then?

i am pretty sure you need to side with the thieves to get edwin, as there is a series of mini quests that involve him and the thieves together.

getting edwin is probably the most complex quest of all NPCs, mainly because he wont join up until after everything is completed.

Ah... that's a pity. Especially that he's an evil character, would be a great addition to an evil party, but if you take Bodhi's side chances are you will miss him. Oh well. Gotta put up with Aerie, then Thanks for the help

You can always join the shadowthieves first and later bodhi. Doing quests for Roenal Bloodscalp has nothing to do with the Aran Linvail vs Bodhi dilemma, aslong as you do it before you join with Bodhi, because after that the shadowthieves will be hostile to you.

Most people don't realize this, I've noticed...

Oh... For some reason I assumed that I can only enter their headquarters if I'm friendly with Aran. Well, that's good to know! Thanks!

You have to be neutral or friendly with Aran to do the quest. The moment you side with Bodhi, Renal will become hostile and the quest-series for getting Edwin unavailable. So get him before you pay up, if you wanna go with the vampires.

i have been playing bg for a long time and never knew, this is great new info! this will be good for all the evil parties out there.

Thanks guys for the help. I got Edwin and Viconia, I got a guild which is so much fun to run, and we made a pact with Bodhi. Reputation is a concern, but hey, what I can't sort out with words I'll settle with blade :laugh:
