@Garcia, I think she's having you on, finding a near-match based on slang for "peder." Ask her what the exact word is for homosexual.
Neatest name I know of: Heraclius Djabadary, a composer from the pre-Soviet Republic of Georgia.

The worst one I ever heard is Thomas Crapper--and the horrible thing is, he *did* invent the comode. Crapper actually gave humanity a boon, by recognizing the value of removing waste products from the immediate environment (which had never been thought important before, and still isn't, in some very unsanitary parts of the world). And what happens? His name becomes a byword for solid waste, itself.

Yeah i remember reading about this. Quite interesting really, which came first the crapper or the crap?
BTW In India the destitute parts use the same water to wash, drink and take a dump in. Weird huh?

I've heard of a doctor with the last name 'Cutter' (not sure if it is the correct spelling though).

The doctor I saw during pregnancy had the last name of Shoichet. That means butcher.

@Sleep, unfortunately that was pretty standard through most human history. Airborne diseases alone don't account for the deaths attributed to many terrible illnesses. Complete lack of basic sanitation is also involved.
