Character Export/XP cap questions

Hi all,

So I'm doing a complete, ordered playthrough of BG1, BG2 and ToB for the first time and just had a few questions regarding character exporting.

I'm using EasyTutu to make the BG1 experience a bit more bearable resolution-wise, and I was wondering if I would be encountering any problems when exporting my BG1 character to SoA. I also plan on dual-classing this guy and was concerned about any level caps that would block my progress on the BG1 side.

I read that BG1 XP is capped at around 161k. Does this still apply if you are using the BG2 engine? If so, are there any mods that would help remove this? I'm still a bit new to the whole BG scene so it's all a bit confusing. I found some BG1 XP cap remover mods but wasn't sure if they were still necessary. I also wasn't sure if applying the mod to my BG1 installation would affect the Baldur's Gate Tutu executable that I am using when playing the game.

Thanks in advance,
A

I only ever used Tutu to play BG1, and I hit the cap fairly early on because I kept my party fairly small. I didn't dualclass, but I do know that Tutu gives you every BG2 class, and they all work fine. If you can pick one of the dualclasses at the beginning, I guess those will work too.

Yes easy tutu also caps at 161k XP. Though it looks to me that if you export/import your char to SoA he gets the full gained XP. You won't have any problems exporting/importing your character, in fact it works smoother with easytutu then with regular BG1. This is because you don't have to adjust your character to the BG2 engine. :)
