Help with a clean install of ToB + these mods!

Please help me install these in the correct order:

SoA & ToB

SCSII

Banter Pack

Level 1 NPCs

...and whatever else I need to get the following options:

1)a clean, bug free game.
2)unlimited stacking of ammo, potions, gems

What fixpacks & tweakpacks are recommended?

What other mods are really good and can be used without a problem here?

Note: I may also want the mod that allows a Barbarian to dual class. I'm not sure yet. Please let me know where to get that and where it gets installed.

TIA

You should install in this order:

Shadows of Amn
Throne of Bhaal
Official ToB Patch
G3 Fixpack (remove most bugs)
G3 Tweakpack (this will give you unlimited stacking)

And whatever mods next, WEIDU mods first.

In your case probably:
Level 1 NPCs
SCSII
Banterpack

I also recommend:
Ascension (don't know if it conflicts with SCSII, should be installed before all other mods, I think)

And I don't mind Unfinished Business and the like, from Pocket Plane.
There's a ton of good custom NPC mods, like Kelsey, Chloe, Solafein, Valen, Keto, Xan....

The tweakpack says it should be installed last though.

And they're right, too. It should always be last.

Sorry to butt in.

Are you saying that if you already have SoA, ToB, Patch, FixPack, TweakPack, and then want to load the Banterpack, which is what I've done, you need to reinstall the TweakPack?

I installed the BanterPack about a week after reinstalling everything else after PC crashed.

Thanks :)

The recommendations of the developers is that the TweakPack should be installed after everything else. Of course, if you've already installed something after the TweakPack without checking their readme file or their online notes, you have to pretty much hope that no problems occur, correct?

I have noticed that if you install something afterwards, the TweakPack reinstalls itself after that. (This can really lengthen install times, too, but it remembers all the settings you've given it.) However, I wouldn't count on this as a solution if some capability problem arises. If the developers say to load it last, best to go with their recommendations. If you can't, well, with any luck, it won't prove bad. Just don't push it.

Thanks. Don't want to take any chances, so I'll reinstall TweakPack.

Installed BanterPack to get the new ammo it gives Jan. I remember you guys talking about it in one of my other post. Figured after the crash, since I had to start over, I would go for it.:mischief:

That ammunition's fun, and it's not cheese. It's different in kind from what Jan regularly uses, but no more powerful.

Ascension does work with SCSII. In fact, you can add the SCSII AI to Ascension, so to speak, as an option.

If you are not using Improved Anvil, I'd probably go with the G3 stuff. I think the correct order of the stuff you listed is G3 tweakpack and then SCSII as the last ones installed. At least, IIRC those were the 2 last ones that I installed. If you are looking for recommendation for additional mods, I posted a SCSII modded game in the sticky of well balanced mods. I didn't run into any problems up to the rescue (that game is on hold).

You can read my choice of mods in one of my previous posts:

http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/speak ... post602550

That list is old, and I don't know how many of the mods have been "deprecated" by new mods, but the main thing is that I listed the features that I like to install from each mod. I've never had any compatibility problems with those selections.

If you select the Tweak Pack option to make all items infinitely stackable, it will try to update all stackable items, including those added by other mods. The way I read it, that means you should install those other mods first, so the new items they add will be updated. The Tweak Pack also makes other changes that affect items and spells added by other mods, including helmet animations, portrait icons added by equipped items, weapon animations, and casting graphics. There is also an option that allows your characters to wear multiple protection items, and I suppose the Tweak Pack also updates new items that fall into that category.

There is also an option to give all creatures maximum hit points, so any new creatures added by other mods would presumably be affected, as long as the Tweak Pack can find their .CRE files and make the appropriate changes.

I don't see how installing the Tweak Pack before other mods could "break" anything. At worst, the options you selected would simply not affect the new items, spells, creatures, etc. It doesn't seem like a big deal to me unless you really, really want everything to be updated.
