Is anyone except me playing this strange game (PC), now?
I find controls a bit complicated and painful - e.g. to climb a tall building you need to press and hold RMB + Space bar and at the same time navigate with WASD. Pickpocket is the worst - first, you press F to "lock" the target, then follow him trying to avoid suspicion, then at some allegedly right moment press Left Shift. If you fail, all armed guards will chase you. Pretty realistic (I guess
) but a pain in the rear.

I haven't played the game yet, but based on the feedback of some people who played it, they didn't find it good. Most say it gets repetitive after a while.

I don't usually play action games but the trailer and 9.5-10 score caught my attention. So, here we are.
Actually, you might like this game, Des. Animation is great and combat is easy, and the hidden blade is rather cool. So far, no bugs.
The system requirements - you will need dual core processor and at least 1GB RAM (WinXP).

I was thinking of giving it a go, but was rather apprehensive when I saw mixed reviews of this game, coupled with the negative feedback from some people I know. Guess I'll borrow it from someone and see if it's worth it or not.

Video Card: 256 MB DirectX 10.0–compliant video card or DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (512 MB video card recommended)

Yes Lady D, I've played on Xbox...and the controls are a bit cumbersome to get used to....the detail involved in the graphics are very nice to look at...
In my opinion, its a good weekend game, something to play and not have to think to much about...
Our fellow member Ulfang has probably played it the most, of the people I've run into here...he might be able to answer any quest related questions.

Yes, games like that don't require much thinking, which is good sometimes. Pure adrenaline rush. My favorite is the Leap of Faith.
Graphics are really nice, especially horses - the best horse riding ever.
Controls are cumbersome indeed.
Other annoying things, besides the controls, are the save/load feature and the map. The map is confusing to say the least. Game autosaves at the so-called check points so you can't quit any time you want without loosing data. And it takes multiple clicking to exit the game.
Otherwise, it is fun. Even the "dialogue" cutcenes are fun to watch - the NPC movements are so realistic.
We've got nasty weather this weekend so I am going to play a lot. Got to finish this game before my Fallout DVD is delivered.

Well, haven't tried much very new games, but here is a short list of games that could give some picture what my computer is able to run:
F.E.A.R, CIV IV, Caesar IV, Doom 3, C&C 3, Oblivion, Hellgate: London (a bit laggy, but playable).

Borrowed it from a friend and gave it a shot a week ago. Overall, it was pretty unimpressive. The 'gene searching' theme is pretty ridiculous coupled with the high-tech feel in Altair's sections nearly killed the mood for the game. If these elements were removed, it might improve the game's storytelling, in my opinion.
With that aside, I like the level of freedom the game encourages, where you can climb any building and the open-ended layout of the maps. However, when it comes to stealth, it clearly suck. If you ignore most of the civvies harassed by guards, then it isn't so bad but most of the time, you will have to save them to get more information or give you advantages to sneak past guards or to provide you with vigilantes to delay the guards if you get into trouble.
As a result, you will end up fighting the guards a lot due to sending the target six feet under or because you saved a harassed civvie. This is where the combat shines as you can execute pretty cool moves like the counter-attack move, making it a more viable option for dealing with threats than to do things stealthily. Gets repetitive after a while, though.
I did try out the other stuff, like pickpocketing and interrogation. While it is cool in the beginning, it also becomes repetitive after a while as you rinse and repeat when you enter a different town, be they Damascus, Jerusalem, etc.
The reviewers are right on this one. It is downright repetitive and I gave up after the second town. I certainly hope Ubi Montreal don't bork up the upcoming Prince of Persia game.

Assassins Creed is like, the worst game I've ever played. Lmao.
Everything is repetitive. I beat the game and I never played it
again. All you do is.. Get on your horse, go do another town.
Get info on the boss, kill him. Get on your horse, go back to main
town to get new info. Go to another town, get info, kill the next
boss.. Etc.. I've played PS1 games that are about 20x better. xD
