Mind marvel malfunction.

As I was playing today I noticed any time I would try to use mind marvel it would no longer effect one of my particular characters. It can't have been because he was allready under the effects of it because I'd wait a few days and then try again and still nothing, his stats weren't maxed either, any one ever encountered this before, and do you know why it is?
