"Dear Diary,
It was my birthday today. Daddy gave me a very special gift. This necklace... uh... I mean..." The voice grew quieter as the four year old girl moved her head away from the microphone. "Daddy, what this thing called again? Oh, thankoo." The voice grew louder again as Petra began to speak directly to the microphone again. "Daddy says it's called a 'Subvocal/Vocal Digital Recording Device'. It's a necklace, and Daddy says everytime I say the uh... voice command... and it will start recording whatever I say. Daddy says it also records 'Subvocal entries' which he says are like talking, but without making noise, but I don't really get it.
Anyway, Daddy says I should start by talking about my life. My name is Petra Rosales. Daddy says I'm named after a character from his favorite book, back when they still wrote on paper. He has a copy of each book in the entire series, and it's one of the only collections of written books left. Anyways, Daddy owns a Solar Power company, and he says my Mommy gave her last breath bringing me into this world. I don't know what that means, but Daddy says he won't tell me until I'm older. Oh, and I forgot to say, I'm four years old, as of today. I miss my Mommy very much, and Daddy won't even show me any pictures of her. Oh, and Daddy says we may have to take a trip very soon, and we might not be back for a long time.
Yesterday, someone came over to the house. I had never seen them before in my life, and I didn't see them very much now because I was in my room most of the time they were here. But Daddy's office is right next to my room, so I heard a bit of them talking. I heard the stranger say '2.5 Billion' and my Dad said' Well, I guess so...' and a little after that the stranger left.
Daddy told me afterward that we should start packing, and we would be leaving in a few days." Some background noise was heard, as Petra's father picked her up and informed her it was her bed time. "Well, I haves to go to bed now, bye-bye for now."

"Dear Diary,
I woke up in the car today. I was thinking about that today. They still call them cars, but they're nothing like Daddy says they used to be. Daddy says they used to have wheels, and run off gasoline. And require a driver at all times. Anyway, Daddy says he took me and my bags into the car at about three in the morning. I asked him where we're going, but he says 'It's a surprise.' I think that he doesn't know where we're going. He seems kind of scared... he says it's important that I make these diaries... but he wouldn't say why. Well, I guess I don't have anything left to say for now. Bye."

"Dear Diary,
I woke up today, and it was dark. At first, I checked my watch to make sure the time was right, and it was. Daddy says this is the reason why we're leaving. He also says when the stranger came, Daddy was selling his company to him. He said since his company is a solar power company, it would crash without the sun. He says we may need to run from the people he sold it to, because they might be mad that they just bought a solar power company and the sun just died out. He says we also may need to go on a colony ship to escape the Earth, cos' it might get too cold without the sun. He also said that- Whoa what!? Daddy, who are they?
The voice grew quieter and changed to that of a man, Petra's father. "Petra, get out of the car! Run!" Crying was all that could be heard on the microphone. "Petra! Run!" and this time, the voice was much more commanding. Through the microphone some noises could be heard as Petra reluctantly obeyed her father. For a few seconds, all that could be heard was Petra's sobbing, and then a loud noise -a gunshot- and more sobs. "Daddy!" the young girls cry was heard, as she turned back towards her father. From the increase in Petra's cries and sobs, the only logical conclusion was her father's death. The noise of some struggling and kicking could now be heard. "Let me go!" Petra's voice cried, and then a grown man's voice was heard. "Get her necklace, its one of those recorder things!" and then... silence.

"Dear Diary,
I woke up today, no idea of my whereabouts. My captors, whoever they may be, gave me the courtesy -or rather the discourtesy- of putting a mirror inside my room. Looking inside it, I discovered myself to be much older -possibly fifteen or sixteen years- and, for the love of god, my eyes were gone, replaced by some metal monstrosities, which, to my extreme dislike, allowed me to see, and see through the mirror what they have done to me. I have no memory since the day my father died. I have figured out a way to hook my 'eyes' up to my necklace so I can record video as well. I will be doing so with all my future entries." The word "eyes" was put with as much contempt as Petra could muster into her voice.
I am inside a room, walls all made of metal. There is a bed in the corner of the room, and a chair. Other than that, the room is pretty empty. Though it doesn't look empty, as it is small, so those two things actually sort of fill the room. Oh, and, there's a security camera in the corner of the room. Well, I guess that's it for now."

A tall man, presumably, wearing a heavy sort of combat armor that covered his entire self, as well as a helmet with a golden visor, tinted, so you could see no part of him whatsoever, only the armor, was seen standing in front of the camera. Though you could not see her, Petra was there, as the video feed was coming from her "eyes."
"You know, you've delivered my meals for more than a month now, and I still haven't seen your face." Petra said, sweetly, and having to keep herself from making the voice sickly sweet instead of merely sweet.
The man stood, looking at Petra for a moment, and then he took his helmet off, revealing him to be smiling.
~Fool!~ Petra thought, as she turned her right side to face the man, raised her right leg, and unleashed a devastating side kick on the man's face. Her captors had made the devastating mistake of allowing her to exercise in their gym. While the man was holding his hand to his face, staggering from the shock and force of Petra's blow, Petra whipped around to face the man again, and launched a powerful jab with her left fist at her guard's face. She smiled at the crack she heard as her hand contacted with the man's nose, breaking it. Petra wasted no time, though. She whipped around, and while turning, she jammed her right elbow into the guard's already broken nose. Her assault was finished. Her final blow had shoved the man's broken nose into his brain, killing him instantly. Petra still wasted no time, though. She had wasted thirteen years in, for all she knew, sleep. And she was done. Anyway, she quickly began to strip the man of his armor and put it on her, over the scrubs-like clothing that they made her wear in her prison.
When she was fully dressed in the man's armor, she made her way through the hallway. The armor was everything but comfortable. First, the man was much taller than Petra, so she had had to tear off parts of her pants, and stuff them in the feet of the armor, so she could stand tall enough to see through the visor of the helmet, which magnetically connected to the rest of the armor when worn. Second, this suit of armor was not designed for women. Petra's chest was cramped inside the armor, which was incredibly uncomfortable. But, the armor did have a few cool features, such as the ability to magnetically attach your weapons to the exterior of the armor, so you would not have to carry them.
Petra was drawn away from her thoughts of the uncomfortability of her armor, as she found herself at a heavy door, with two guards at the doors, wearing armor similar to hers, but both of their armor was blue, whilst Petra's was red.
"What are you doing here? Red is cellblock security." The guard standing to Petra's right said, looking her up and down from behind his visor.
"Uh... Sorry." Petra said, doing her best to make her voice sound deep and like a man's. "I had a little too much to drink last night, and I'm still a little buzzed." and with those words, she turned and began to walk away. She made a note of this hallway, and not to head down it again. She switched her recorder off, and spent the next few hours wondering throughout the halls of this complex.

The camera returned from the momentary -to the viewer, at least- darkness, to an extremely dazzling light. The brightness on Earth would be nearly equal to that of the sun, but with Petra on the observation deck so close to it, at first she feared of going blind. But then, she remembered. Of course she couldn't go blind. She didn't believe so anyway, due to her electronic eyes. Though she supposed that if the light was bright enough, it could, in fact, damage the 'retinas' though repair would be simple, unlike that of an actual human eye. Anyway, she assumed that her visor also served to dim the light a little, so the employees of the station would not go blind. At least not immediately, but within due time, they probably would. And then their eyes would be replaced with metal ones, like Petra's.
