i need help

hey guys i need help installing oblivion everytime i put in the disk nothing comes up isent a screen suposed to pop up. so i need help right away please

If your CD drive doesn't include DVD capabilities (odd I know, but totally possible), then nothing will pop up because it can't read the disc.

Where you put the DVD in your computer, look on the front of that and tell me if there's big bold letters that actually say "DVD" on it.

i got a dvd player is that good?

It could be that your DVD is either scuffed/scratch or your DVD player is so used that it's simply died.

Yeah try putting a different DVD in and see if it reads it. Like a movie DVD or something. That can help you isolate the problem.
I don't know too much about computing and electronics but I have had some problems go away if I turn the computer off. And turn it back on. Also you could try going to the start button and clicking on the whatever drive is the DVD (it should have an icon of your game maybe?? to help you recognize it or else try clicking on a bunch of them and highlight 'properties' to make sure its a DVD...right click to get the menu with properties)
Anyhow if it doesn't pop up maybe selecting it after hitting the start button (lower left) will help. Hope I have helped and at least not been any harm G'luck.
