Went to do this simple quest and the body isn't visible. I am doing everything right and the green arrow is directing me into a wall from two different directions. I think the body has drifted into the wall somehow. If I can't do this stupid little quest I won't be able to enter the Arcane University, make spells, and enchant items. This means starting over for me. I am pissed!

Does anybody know how to solve or circumvent this problem? Is there a cheat that will gain me entrance into the university or force this quest complete? Any aid will be greatly appreciated as starting over will be an extreme drag and this is supposed to be fun.

There is a glitch in this quest, by the way. Sometimes, the body simply isn't in the well. If that's the case here, you may need to use a console command. Be sure to create a new save, first, before you attempt this.

Hit the ~ key. This should bring up the console. Type in:

sqt

Hit return. This should give you a quest ID. Now type:

completequest <questID>

Hit return again. Close the console. That quest should now be finished, and you should be able to return to the quest giver.

No, it won't. I didn't realize you were on an Xbox. How far back is your last saved game before that bug?

try talking to deetsan, you need her to give you a key anyway and she gives you a buoyancy spell
