Not bad, Sleep.
I clocked myself at 65wpm this morning and that was before consuming any Dr. Pepper.

I bet Random Shadow can type faster than you.
I've watched her type. It's hard to see her fingers when she's typing because she types so fast.
What I enjoy is when my computers suddenly gets extremely lagged and I type faster than my computer can process and put it on the screen. Because I automatically notice my typing errors, without having to see them, I also automatically back up and correct them. It's fun to watch the letters slowly appearing on the screen after I've finished typing the sentence and watch it back up every so often to correct a spelling mistake.

Would make a huge difference what kind of text I was writing. A word like "N-(2-(4-(2-meathoxyphenyl)-1-piperazinyl)ethyl-N-(2-pyridyl)cyclohexanecarboxamide" (yes, I have a macro for that) of course takes much longer time to type than a short, common words. So what kind of text do you use to measure?

Well, I measured mine using a 280 word document I had written by hand. I typed it up, timing myself, then did a word count and calculated my speed. But the range of word size was probably about like this post I just typed. The longest word in the text I used for my measurement was "stereotypical."

OK, I just tried with a medium difficulty text about logics. Result = 56 wpm.
I type faster if I sit up at a desk (as opposed to lying in bed with my laptop

), and also, if I'm writing in Swedish, I type a little bit faster.
I actually use the correct finger setting, I used to play with the old electrical type writer we had at home when I was a kid, and my mother was a secretary, so she taught me when I was about 5 or so. Then, as a young teenager, I started to write a lot of stuff like poetry, novels etc

and then the correct finger setting sort of felt natural.

I learned how to type in 6th grade and was fastest in my class(even faster than the teacher

). But at the time, I hated writing. I've hated writing all my life. Then, last year, I started writing fanfics and now I love writing.

However, being able to type doesn't mean you can spell.
Me~
I can spell "antidisestablishmentarianism" with my eyes closed, but I can't spell "eyes" with my eyes open.
Edit: No, I did not misspell antidisestablishmentarianism and have to correct it. I just messed up my quote tags...

my last count was about 50-60 WPM. Thats without any typing lessons, or people showing me what to do. I learned how to type, incidently, by playing games like Warcraft 2, and inserting the cheats, after finishing the game of course!
All I know is that I can type "glitteringprizes" in less than 2 seconds now...

Well the last time I was timed was during my RSA (about 16 years ago

) Under test, on an old fashioned clickety click typewriter I counted 40...(my little fingers were always too weak to press down the keys so out of habit - even on a keyboard - I amd a two finger one thumb typist

)

We're also assuming that he's being honest.
I'm amazed you can only type 10 words per minute faster than me, but that just means I type faster than I thought I did.
