Quick/auto/regular save issues!

Right now I am in the Umar Hills and for some reason, every time I try to save the game, a window pops up saying "Save game failed, quit? (yes/no)"
All the other posts I have read on this topic have been for mac, and I am on a HP PC, though I did attempt their ideas (deleting the "Temp" folder, re-installing)
Any ideas?
