This is the first of three interesting quests involving Elven ruins. You must first find an
Ayleid Statue in an Elven ruin. (They do not look much like statues; more like something you might put a kettle on to boil). Sell it to your favorite shopkeeper, and at some time in the future a character called Jollring will confront you with a message from his master, Umbacano. He tells you that his master has bought your statue, and would like to buy more. He lives in Umbacano Manor in the Talos Plaza District of the Imperial City.
When you get there (it is on the left, diagonal to the gate), Jollring will escort you upstairs to Umbalacano. He prefers you to sit down, before talking to him. He asks if you can find him more statues, and marks five likely ruins on your map - Moranda, Mackamentain, Wenyandawik, Ninendava and Fanacas. If you have already found two or more of them and recovered two more statues you can immediately sell them to him, and this quest will end.
Otherwise you need to proceed to the sites he has marked, and look for two more statues. They are, like all Elven ruins, full of booby traps. Bridges collapse, walls shoot up to trap you, spikes descend on you, and in particular there is often an electrified gate, which you have to pursue, and then duck into an alcove until it goes back past you. They are mostly populated by ghosts, so you need your silver or magic weapons to survive. When you find the statues go back to Umbacano. He will pay you, and offer you a new quest - "Nothing You Can Possess".
