Did we miss anything during this quest? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!
When you return to the Priory of the Nine after finishng the knights' quests and recovering five of Pelinal's relics, you'll be approached by Lathon, squire for one Sir Roderic of Wayrest that you may recall meeting during the
Pilgrimage quest. Lathon tells you that Sir Roderic had a vision from the ghost of Sir Berich (the missing Knight of the Nine) while praying at one of the shrines. Sir Berich had acquired the
Greaves of the Crusader and
Sword of the Crusader, but then turned evil and was eventually slain in Underpall Cave. Sir Roderic and his squire were to put the former knight to rest, but were attacked by the wraith incarnation of Sir Berich in the depths of Underpall Cave. Sir Roderic was slain, though his squire escaped with both his life and the
Greaves of the Crusader, which he now presents to you. His only request is that you make him a Knight of the Nine so that he may join the cause and return to Underpall Cave at your side to destroy the wraith.
Lathon isn't the only one willing to join your cause. A handful of your former acquaintences are here in the Priory of the Nine (including Areldur, Avita Vesnia, Thedret, and two newcomers named Geimund and Gukimir), all of whom want to put an end to Umaril and his minions. Welcome them into the order and you'll begin to realize the potential this place has. Not only are you in charge of a contingent of knights, but you have a nice stronghold as a base of operations (notice all the new furniture?), your own blacksmith (Sergius Turrianus, brought here by Sir Thedret), and access to the Armor Stand in the undercroft. As it turns out, the Armor Stand is imbued with the ability to recharge, repair, and re-level any of the Crusader relics that you place on it. Simply place any weapon or piece of armor on the stand and it will return to pristine condition at the maximum enchantment that your current level allows.
While you're wandering around checking out everything the priory has to offer, you may overhear one of your new knights mention that the Great Chapel of Mara in Bravil has been attacked in the same manner as Anvil's was. Before heading to Underpall Cave with Lathon, you may want to pay a visit to the chapel and see the damage for yourself. When you do, you'll find that the knight was right - the chapel has been brutally attacked. Three of its caretakers lie dead and more runic scribblings can be found around the central altar. You can't let this continue. You must acquire the
Sword of the Crusader and put an end to Umaril's thirst for blood.
Underpall Cave lies just to the north of The Orange Road between Bruma and Chorrol. As soon as you're within a short distance of its entrance, this quest will be completed and you'll automatically receive the
The Sword of the Crusader quest.
