A character's ability to lead, his reflection upon others, and his general persuasiveness are all measured by Charisma. It is most important to characters who
need to present themselves as a leader, such as a knight leading his men to battle, or those that must frequently engage with NPCs.
Using the 3rd edition rules, charisma is more important than it was in 2nd edition. The above table provides a modifier for the attribute, which is used for:
- Checks to influence other creatures
- Cleric and Paladin turning undead checks
- Several skills with charisma as their key ability
If that isn't enough reason for you to stop reducing charisma to increase your other stats, the modifier also comes into play for determine what bonus spells a Sorceror or
Bard get. Interesting, eh?
