The worker ants are the tougher breed of ant, but they will not attack you unless provoked (or damaged by an area effect). Their mandible bite attack isn't particularly damaging, but they can pick up huge pieces of rock and hurl them. You can avoid them, and pass unharmed, but a single stray shot can put them in attack mode. For some of the narrower sections where you have no choice but to pass close to them, it is best to take them out from a decent range, utilizing area attacks and explosive barrels and mushrooms when possible.
