Thanks to the game's presence at the Indie Megabooth, you can now watch a Dead State live demo at this link (starts approximately at 03:45:00), which showcases both the combat and the shelter mechanics, and, if you're particularly careful and stop the video at the right times, some dialogue too. The game's looking a bit rough technically as of now, but the gameplay and dialogue shows great promise.
