Dark Souls III found some space in Microsoft's crowded Xbox One Gamescom conference with a short but extremely revealing gameplay trailer, the first for the title. We've embedded it below for your viewing pleasure:
If you thought of Bloodborne while watching the trailer, don't worry, you weren't alone. The faster gameplay and the far more horror-oriented art direction definitely seem similar to From Software's PlayStation 4 exclusive, which was released earlier this year. In spite of the fact that Dark Souls III will release only a year after Bloodborne, however, it doesn't look like it will simply be a fantasy-themed expansion or a retread of Dark Souls II. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the game will be any good, but the early signs look really encouraging.
