Move the "savedgames" folder from the Pool of Radiance directory then delete the "roster" folder.

Start a new game and make 4 new characters with the same names. As soon as the first combat with the two orcs ends, save the new game.

Exit the game and go into the Pool of Radiance directory again and delete the "savedgames" directory, but leave the roster folder alone.

Then move the old "savedgames" folder back into the Pool of Radiance directory.

Restart the game and attempt to load up your old saved game.

If this does not help please check back as we have informed the development team and they are currently working on fixing various errors in Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor.
