Q: Special abilities for each unit were announced. Is this true? If so, could you give us examples of new abilities for some of the units we already know?
A: All of the creatures have special abilities. For example, champions do extra damage when they charge over long distances to attack, sprites are impossible to retaliate against due to their speed and small size, medusae can turn their opponents to stone, Cyclopes throw large boulders that shatter to damage nearby targets, imps drain spellpoints from enemy spellcasters and transfer them to friendly spellcasters, and mages have spellbooks containing five spells that the player can choose to cast.
This is a good idea; it gives more depth to the monsters than there was before, since only a selected few had special abilities in HOMM III.
