Temple of Elemental Evil Reviews

On the whole, The Temple of Elemental is a very enjoyable game. It looks great, and there's a lot of detail. There are some huge and diverse locations, and the combat situations are also nice and varied. Sadly, the game is not all pleasant. For a start, it runs quite poorly. Even on a midrange systems and medium settings, the screen tends to jerk along, as does the mouse, and that can really make working the menus tedious. Then there are some graphical issues. You can heavily customise your outfit, which includes using a cloak and robes. While these nicely billow in the breeze, they also constantly cut through each other, making the effect look rubbish. Then there are the voices. Some of the voice work is pretty spot on. Some of it is ridiculously hammy, and sounds nothing like a person having a real conversation.
And the second is at Gaming Illustrated with an overall score of 62%:
Dungeons and Dragons or otherwise diehard CRPG fans with a high bug/annoyance threshold should be pleased with the fine implementation of the D&D rules and the many quest options. Other serious RPG fans set on playing an otherwise great adaption of D&D rules and classic module should wait for the game's patch. The bugs make the game far too aggravating for anyone else.
