In a bar called The Hive, lead character Adam Jensen looks for a man who might have some scrap of information about who perpetrated an attack on his employer. A bartender Jensen questions refuses to let us in to see the man we need, even though demonstrator and art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête chose more relaxed, non-threatening dialog options. It's clear though, as we could tell from the bartender's shifting eyes, that he's hiding something. Jacques-Belletête tells us we could settle this with violence, but he takes a more subtle approach, wandering around the bar until he overhears a conversation that yields a valuable clue: An employee of the bar may have left some sensitive information in the bathroom. With a few seconds of hunting, we find a data pad with passkey that'll get us one step closer to our target. Jacques-Belletête assures us there are multiple ways to attack this and all the game's problems.1up.
Yep, I said "dialogue systems"; instead of just straightforward talking, now the player can choose one of three statements/approaches for Adam to say. After Adam gets inside (which maintains the multiple choices playstyle; the demo-er has Adam pay a bribe to get in, but he could also speak to nearby NPCs to figure out another way to get past the doorman, or sneak around the back and break in), he asks the bartender for a chance to talk with a local Triad boss, Pete Tong. I don't catch all the options, but for the demo, Adam uses "pinpoint" to tell very specific information, and then he uses pinpoint again to supply a detailed argument for why he should be allowed to meet Pete.PlayStation LifeStyle.
Augmentations are a huge part of the Deus Ex game and you can use these to raise your strength, awareness and gain access to different areas in the game. You will also find the ability to Hack doors, turrets and cameras to work in your advantage and if you do find yourself in close quarters, there is an awesome take down system. These take downs can be done anywhere in the game, meaning that each take down will be a bit different than the last, giving for a lot of fun times sneaking up on guards. We were also told that the game will feature fully customizable weapons and possibly the coolest thing through the demo was busting through weak walls to choke out enemies.Examiner.
If you had any doubts or concerns about Deus Ex: Human Revolution tarnishing the franchise, you can breathe easy. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is not a 'spiritual successor', it is clearly and competently returning the series to its foundations, and bringing it (and us) 'back to the future' in style. This is clearly going to be one of the most anticipated games of 2011, particularly for PC gamers.
