Nemisis does not only look like a demonic plane with its volcanic rock faces and rivers of glowing lava, but the borders of this world that link it to the demonic planes are much weaker than those in Rivellon, for example. Nemisis once belonged to the Raanaar, the indigenous population of the land, and for many years, these brave warriors faced down the threat of the invading hell spawn. And together with the mighty and terrifying demons came their little cousins, the imps.
But the Raanaar were not helpless and their magic caste installed a protection crystal that cut the connection between Nemisis and the realms of the demons. No longer invincible, the demons were slowly but surely driven out of Nemisis.
