Shrouded Isles Information @ Camelot Herald

Mythic Entertainment's Matt Firor stopped by the Camelot Herald to bring everyone up to speed on how Shrouded Isles, the upcoming expansion to Dark Age of Camelot, is coming along. Here's an excerpt from his news post:

    - We now have a stable expansion client and are able to play in all live areas of the game, as well as the expansion zones. Mythic employees have been running the new client for a few weeks now on the live servers as they play the game, just to see how existing content looks in the new engine. Everyone has reported a startling frame rate improvement that we hope will carry through development of Shrouded Isles, as well as overall sharper effects and texture detail.

    - We plan to start an internal (closed) beta in just a few weeks. We'll announce plans for an open beta after that. Stay tuned to the Herald for Details.

    - All the new expansion zones are now up on the internal Mythic development server, and are having art added to them on a daily basis.

    - We have about four new dungeons that are ready to have monsters added to them and encounters scripted. Two of these are the ones that I showed at the recent Camelot Roundtable - the ice caves and Trollheim.

    - Next week we launch a new website system with new Dark Age of Camelot, Shrouded Isles, Camelot Herald, and Customer Service sites. All will have a consistent look and feel and will be tied together more logically. The Shrouded Isles site will have screenshots and information about the new classes, races, and continents.

    - Two major game news websites will be presenting new Shrouded Isles information sometime in the near future (probably next week) with new screenshots and a question and answer with the dev team.
