It wasn't until the late '90s that real info on a Wizardry sequel began to emerge. Key developers of Crusaders regrouped into Sir-tech Canada, and built a new 3D engine to support their vision of a Wizardry 8. The game looked promising, but development was slow, and the projected release date kept slipping. Finally, with the game almost complete, Sir-tech ran into what would prove to be a fatal problem: It could not find a publisher.
