According to the latest development update for Fallout 76, Bethesda’s multiplayer survival RPG will be kicking the year off with a new quality of life update and an in-game event. The big update will be focusing on improving the game’s inventory system and should be going live later this month, following a few weeks on the PTS. And in the meantime, you can enjoy the special double S.C.O.R.E. event that’ll let you increase the yield of your Daily Challenges.
Here’s more on that:
Welcome back! With the holiday season squarely in our rearview mirror, we’re looking ahead to what’s in store for Fallout 76 in 2021. The fun will begin with some inventory quality-of-life improvements at the end of this month, and we’re kicking off a new phase of Public Test Server (PTS) playtesting so that you can check them out early. We’re also sharing details on this weekend’s upcoming Double S.C.O.R.E. event, and a reminder about our weekly Fallout 76 community streams.
NEW YEAR, NEW PTS!
Last month, we shared a look at the quality-of-life improvements we’re planning to include in our first Fallout 76 update of the year. Now, we’d like to invite Bethesda.net PC players to get some early hands-on time with these changes in a new phase of PTS playtesting.
We’re calling this an “Inventory Update,” because it’s going to introduce a variety of improvements for how you manage your stuff. As a brief overview, it will include a Stash increase to 1,200 pounds, add “Armor” and “Food/Drink” tabs to the Pip-Boy, display the total weights of any item stacks you have, and expand on Player Vending Machine previews on the Map. These are going to be very positive changes for the game, and we would love for you to join us in playtesting to help ensure they are solid and polished before release at the end of January
To get playtesting rolling as soon as possible, we’re re-opening the PTS starting a little later today, January 7. As always, all players who own a PC copy of Fallout 76 through Bethesda.net can dive into the PTS to try out the upcoming improvements. If you do, be sure to head over to the PTS forum to let us know what you think and report any bugs you encounter.
DOUBLE S.C.O.R.E. STARTS TODAY

Since then, Inkwell has uncovered a fascinating piece of technology that will temporarily speed up your journey! Starting today, and throughout the weekend, you will be able to rank up and claim your Season rewards more quickly by earning double the S.C.O.R.E. from your Daily Challenges.
