The guys at ShackNews have conducted an interview with Bethesda's Todd Howard, in which they quiz Morrowind's lead designer about their decision to make the game available on a console system. Here's a taste:

Q: Looking back on it, would you have liked to put Xbox Live support in Morrowind?

A: No. No, I wouldn't have actually. I feel that any features you have have to be the best ones. I mean, we could have Xbox Live in there, but it would have been the worst Xbox Live support of any game.
