Q: Trade skills. Will it be possible for characters to sit around in town, discuss cross-stitching while crafting misshapen ashtrays and clumsily stitched wallets, and gain both experience and money? Or are all craftsmen doomed to beat various beasties into the ground to gain the precious monetary means to practice their art?
A: You'll need to acquire starting capital via the time honored monster whacking. But you could, with canny trading, never again leave your base of operations. If you purchase raw materials from the store (and all but special items will be available from NPC merchants), and sell the finished product back to the store, you will lose a little money. If you sell the products to the players, your profit is determined by you. If you buy raw materials from the players, and sell to the players, you will make a good profit. Players NEED your stuff, as it's better than anything of their level that they can buy. Remember, that while they can purchase high level gear, it will decay and require repair very quickly. The player made armor/weaponry of the same level as the store bought goods will always be superior.
