Dungeons & Dragons Heroes Reviews

Dungeons & Dragons Heroes is a decent, facile translation of the D&D experience, but only for those who weren't already obsessed and experienced with the original. It's paradoxically ill-suited to the hardcore audience, who are the ones you'd think it would aim to please the most. Although Heroes is an admirable entry in this genre of console games, it should probably be seen as a between course filler until the roasted, arrow-pierced carcass of Dark Alliance 2 graces the table. Let us prey (yes, pun intended).
The second is at Gigex with an overall score of 2/5:
The only saving grace Dungeons & Dragons: Heroes has going for it is the four player co-op. But with repetitive gameplay and virtually no story, you'll be hard-pressed to keep yourself entertained. Add to that poor graphics and animation, bad camera angles, and a below average weapons system, and you have a game that probably should've been delayed. Since Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II and Champions of Norrath have both been pushed into early 2004, if you're looking for an Action-RPG this holiday season Heroes is your only option. I'd recommend the original Baldur's Gate before this one, but if you've already played through that, give this one a rent before you make a purchase if you absolutely can't wait for Dark Alliance II.
