About Dark Age of Camelot: Trials of Atlantis

Trials of Atlantis, the expansion to Dark Age of Camelot, opens a whole new world in the critically-acclaimed massively-multiplayer online role-playing game. With Trials of Atlantis, players can rediscover the ancient civilization of Atlantis that was once spread across multiple islands, but is now submerged deep in the ocean. Foreseeing the demise of their society, the ancient people of Atlantis, possessors of extremely powerful magical lore, built a series of Trials into the ruins of their once great culture. Players can now take on the nine trials and unlock new mysterious powers while mastering the perilous ocean and confronting terrifying monsters.

Trials of Atlantis is designed to further challenge high-level players by introducing a Master Level advancement system. As a player moves sequentially through each of the nine trials, they will achieve a corresponding Master Level. Emphasizing group play, the trials will have to be tackled by groups of players. Players are able to travel by boat, explore islands within the ruins, swim to submerged dungeons, and battle new creatures in underwater caves. Additionally, Trials of Atlantis features three new races, dozens of original monsters, as well as quests to discover and treasures to reclaim.

Trials of Atlantis brings many graphical upgrades to Dark Age of Camelot. It utilizes NDL's state-of-the-art Gamebryo graphic engine and is now DirectX 9 compatible, giving it access to the latest graphical spell, world, and captivating underwater scenes and effects. Many of these graphical upgrades extend to the game's original lands as well as the new Atlantis continent. High-definition terrain textures and new extremely high-definition trees now render Camelot landscapes in realistic detail, even in the game's older areas. Additional graphics upgrades in Trials of Atlantis include a new user-skinable interface, new high-polygon monster models, and many new spell and lighting effects.
