Sony Online has hit the ground running with EverQuest II. It's more newbie-friendly at the outset, and seems likely to retain some of that shine for non-traditional massively multiplayer gamers. There's loads of potential here, and only a few rough spots to navigate. The tools and players are in place -- we'll see how the game evolves over the coming months and return with an updated evaluation.
