I found myself having a lot of fun with the combat. The tutorial provided a good introduction and explanation, and the fact that new skills are gained when you level up meant that things weren't too confusing for the first couple of levels, while I was still getting to grips with the interface and the way that combat worked. That's not to say that combat remains simple for long as you acquire more skills you also get access to Heroic Opportunities, which are performed by using specific (chains) of skills in the right order (including spells). The end result is an action that can deal the enemy a fatal blow, give some sort of bonus to the party, or perhaps deal some Area of Effect damage, depending on the abilities used to trigger it. This adds a lot of strategy to combat encounters, especially when it comes to grouping.
