All these features translate into an engaging and action-packed combat experience, since you always need to take into account which side of your ship is equipped with the best weapons, while the opposite is also valid: you need to keep the less shield-protected parts away from enemy fire. You can also aim at specific sub-systems, rendering that nasty laser useless or destroying the enemy's engine. For those who would rather take prisoners, we have the option of boarding the enemy vessel, and here each ship's capacity to carry marines is crucial. The rewards are somewhat different here, since the enemy is no longer destroyed, but instead can be captured and sold at the nearest station for a nice amount. Furthermore, each ship moves in a different way, and it's not hard to guess that a freighter is a lot less agile than a small fighter. So overall we have a fun combat system which makes you feel like a seasoned pilot when you manage to defeat your enemies.
