GameShark gives it an "A-":
...if the wonderful combat isn't enough to draw you in, the charming visuals just might do the trick. Clash of Heroes looks like a long-lost SNES game, a spiritual sibling to the heyday of 16-bit RPGs. The pixelated art style is so nostalgic it almost hurts, though the wonderfully drawn character portraits help make it feel like a modern game on a modern handheld. Sadly, this is a game that's easy to overlook. Nearly everything about it screams generic, which is ironic considering how fresh and unique the core gameplay feels. For those who like a little strategy RPG with their puzzle games, there is no finer game than Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.
RPGamer gives it a 4.0/5:
Capybara Games has done a phenomenal job creating a very unique RPG/puzzle hybrid that will keep gamers happy. This is a fantastic game to play at home in bed for a few hours straight, or it can be played in bursts on a commute to work. Not only does the game feature a lengthy campaign, but it also offers a local multiplayer experience, along with a quick play feature that has a sliding difficultly. Those who seek something with a lot more depth than Puzzle Quest as well as a unique challenge will have no problem deriving enjoyment from Clash of Heroes. While Clash of Heroes may seem like the underdog for DS Game of the Year, those who have discounted this quirky title out may be missing out on a remarkably refreshing new experience.
Orange gives it an 8/10:
This series may have a long and illustrious history, but you can throw out any opinions you may already have about Might and Magic. Clash of Heroes is a completely new game and bears very little resemblance to previous titles under the M&M banner. Combining elements of an RPG, customisable card games, strategy, gem-swapping and even Patience, Clash of Heroes is, above all else, massively addictive.
And Nintendo Everything gives it a 9.1/10:
Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes is an entertaining puzzle title that will, most likely, be overlooked by some of the bigger releases this holiday such as The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. However, the game is essentially a must-buy for DS owners, regardless of one's interest in the genre. Clash of Heroes offers a ton of content with a lengthy campaign, engrossing battles, and multiplayer fights. But most importantly, it is one of the strongest puzzle outings to have graced the DS.
