The very prospect of placing a contemporary-style character in a fantasy setting is pretty intriguing to us, but much more so than its brethren, HtbaG is an action RPG with consequences. Although we didn't experience it greatly in the preview version, using modern technology against enemies armed with only swords gives you something of a godly reputation, which affects everything you do in the game. Indeed, although click-based combat is at the heart of the experience, quests aren't just boiled down to simple instructions, as is the case in similar games. Much like more grown up RPGs, you have options within conversations and can choose to approach quests in different ways.
Intriguingly there are more options than whether to be good or bad and whether or not to go native, as what you choose to wear has a real impact on what you can and can't do. Being a spy, you can pass yourself off as a guard, bandit or a member of many other factions. Ultimately your actions lead to one of several endings, although getting that far will likely take some time as in addition to some lengthy main quests are an awful lot of side quests.
