SpellForce: The Order of Dawn Wrap Report

You have quite a good idea of what is good in your game and what isn't. And generally, the compliments and criticisms are justified. But it almost always takes you by surprise which features are hardly ever or never mentioned in reviews or player feedback. I'll just take the opportunity to list a few:
- Even though your avatar can be killed, SpellForce has no real player death. There is never a need to reload an old savegame. Actually, you can play through the whole game without ever saving and you run no risk of getting stuck in any dead ends. This massively increases immersion.
- In SpellForce, you can control and build up several different races at once. This feature is rarely seen in an RTS, yet it allows you to combine the strengths of the races in single-player mode, and not just in multiplayer.
- SpellForce has some great interface features; e.g. the idle worker button. There is one for every race you control. It shows how many workers of this race are currently idle. By clicking on these buttons, you can select any number of these workers without having to search for them on the map to select them one by one. Want to get five idle orcs to work in the mines. Just click five time on the idle orcs button and you have them selected.
