Q: Turning to the obvious complementary question, what are three enemies do you consider especially noteworthy, and why does each stand out in your mind?
Dan Vondrak, Project Lead, Raven: Core Guard. Once you see these guys, especially the Leader versions, you understand why they are memorable. They are huge. They swing these massive hammers and axes. The leader versions gain an additional size bonus. In one area of the game, if you can't complete one of the power puzzles, you need to take the harder route around it and you'll face a large group of Core Guard Leaders. You can barely see your heroes with all those guys on screen.
Optic Crawler. When you hear the "bamf" of teleportation and see optic lasers flying across the screen, you'll know you've found the Optic Crawlers. Mister Sinister mixed the DNA of Cyclops and Nightcrawler to create these guys. Just when you think you've got them cornered or lined up for a nice ranged shot, they teleport out of the way. Using area of effect and stun attacks is your best bet to beat these guys.
Anubite Warriors. One of the coolest looking enemies in the game, these guys come right out of Egyptian mythology. They are fast and armed with huge bladed staffs. Without a doubt, these guys spawn into the world in some of the most creative ways in the game; the designers had a lot of fun with these guys. Often times, they will bust out of statues or rise out of the floors. Oh, and to make it worse, these guys can be resurrected by higher-level Anubites.
