WildTangent Launches FATE: The Traitor Soul
Redmond, WA, Sep 10, 2009 -- WildTangent, a global games media company operating the fastest growing online games service and the largest game advertising network in the world, announced today it has released the next version of its downloadable, award-winning fantasy RPG titled "FATE: The Traitor Soul." The release of Traitor Soul comes just 14 months after the company released its second version of the game called FATE: Undiscovered Realms and four years after the original FATE was released in 2005 when PC Gamer Magazine named it runner-up for "RPG of the Year." FATE: The Traitor Soul is a fantasy action role-playing game in which players take their characters through progressively difficult levels of a dungeon while fighting monsters, completing quests, and collecting valuable items and gold. Players earn experience points that boost character attributes and unlock new levels and weapons.
The Traitor Soul adds quests that take you into the new Chamber of Trials where your hero will face the ultimate challenge. This new version also allows players to import their original FATE hero, or play as a non-human such as an Orc, Elf or Cogger. The downloadable version also includes FATE: Undiscovered Realms.
New features include: o All-new heroes including the SteamPunk Cogger, Shadow Elf and Orc Champion o Three new loyal pets and five new boss monsters o 13 new spells, including Fireball, Cinder Blast and Thorn Skin o New graphics, music, armor and weapons "FATE: The Traitor Soul is the highest quality, most action-packed version of the FATE series yet and is sure to delight the FATE addict as well as the newbie," said David Worle, senior director of publishing at WildTangent. "We expect this will quickly become the most popular game on our network." FATE: The Traitor Soul, which carries an ESRB rating of E for Everyone 10+, can be downloaded for free exclusively from www.wildgames.com, or through the WildTangent ORB(TM) game console, which comes pre-installed on more than 65 million consumer PCs and laptops from leading PC manufacturers including HP, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo, Gateway and others. The game will also be available at most major retailers, including Wal-Mart and Target, later this month.
As with most games in the WildTangent game network, FATE: The Traitor Soul offers users two full-access free plays of the game. To continue the game after these free plays have been used, players have three options available: they can purchase the game for $19.99, use WildTangent's hugely successful and patented WildCoins(TM) virtual currency to play on a per session basis, or select a Sponsored Session(TM) that offers a free, ad-supported game session provided by one of WildTangent's Fortune 500 advertisers.
