Working under the direction of the Lead Designer and Project Director to deliver core gameplay elements. Conceives game systems; including combat, UI, inventory, progression, levels, NPC actions, play balance and reward schemes. Oversees the design implementers of these systems and provides a first pass check on deliverables. Acts as an information conduit from design to other departments.
EDUCATION:
Minimum education (preferred but not mandatory): Four year post-secondary degree with an emphasis in computer science, or equivalent experience.
EXPERIENCE:
'¢2+ years of professional game design experience.
'¢Worked as a designer on 2+ published (preferably AAA) action, adventure and/or combat-oriented games.
SKILLS:
'¢Familiarity with the fantasy and science fiction genre and role-playing games.
'¢Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
'¢Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
'¢Superior organization skills and works well under deadlines.
'¢Practical experience with C++ and/or C#.
'¢Aptitude in a non-design development skill (e.g., art, audio, programming, cinema, animation, etc.).
