Massive Jade Empire Interview

IGN Xbox has conducted a six-page interview with BioWare's Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk, and Jim Bishop, in which the CEOs and producer talk extensively about Jade Empire. A small morsel:
Q: Where does Jade stand in terms of development? How much of the game is complete and where do you stand on things like recorded dialogue, level design? Is it feature complete yet? And uh, if so, can you send me a copy on the down-low?

A: Um, well, unfortunately, no we can't send you a copy on the "down-low." (Smiles) But we're playing the game ourselves a lot at BioWare and I can tell you that it's shaping up to be quite awesome! We're approaching some important milestones very soon now -- we're close to code complete (this summer) and we're not far away from being content complete (late summer/early fall). VO recording is already happening in some areas and the bulk of the VO will be recorded fairly soon. The level design is coming along very well -- our QA teams are doing complete passes through the storyline of the game and sending in lots of great bugs on how we can make the story and gameplay even more awesome.

At BioWare we spend a lot of time iterating the gameplay, interface, and storyline in the last few months of the project and since things are well on track in terms of our milestones, we'll definitely be taking the time to try to ensure that Jade Empire is the best game BioWare has ever made. Our goal at BioWare is to strive to make each game we release better than all the previous ones and we're trying our best to accomplish this with Jade Empire -- it's going to be a great action-RPG and it should appeal to both action fans and RPG fans as a result.
