Ultimately, another classic is born. The ability to re-play the game as different characters makes for hours of additional game play, and the weapon modification systems empowers the player to influence the hand they're dealt. Few role-playing games succeed on as many levels as the Baldur's Gate series, and I'm glad to say it remains the game by which all others of its kind may be judged. If only I could bring it with me to the mortgage company.
The second is at XBox Addict with an overall score of 4.7/5:
All in all the game is rock solid. It is a blast to play through by yourself and even more fun when you team up with a friend to take down the evil around Baldur's Gate as a rampaging duo. The game is decently long as well, I've been playing it for close to 10 hours and have just completed the first of 4 acts which means there will be enough baddy slaying to keep you occupied for quite a while. If you are an RPG fan you need to pick this up. If you liked the gameplay in Hunter: The Reckoning you need to pick this up. If you like both of the prior then you DEFINATELY need to pick this up. Everyone else should probably pick this game up as well, as it is a solid addition to anyone's game library!
And the third is at Gamer's Hell with an overall score of 8.1/10:
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 has been a positive surprise for me. It's a pretty fun game with a pretty good amount of replayability. You can have some entertaining hours playing the game, but if you've played a lot of Diablo 2, Dungeon Siege and/or Neverwinter Nights you might find that it lacks in the multiplayer department.
Since it only takes about twelve hours to finish the game you might be able to make do with renting the game, but due to the replay value of co-op multiplayer and unlockable characters this is a game I recommend buying.
