Hack-n-slash fans rejoice because Dark Alliance II will be a treat for all who enjoy the series. Packed full of great new features, tons of new enemies, and a perfectly flowing storyline there is none better than Dark Alliance II. The graphics are stunning, the audio is brilliant, and the gameplay shows why Dark Alliance II is still at the top of the genre. Sure, there are a few aspects of the game could have used a bit more attention, but the overwhelming greatness of everything else in this title quickly erases any complaints from mind. This is one of those games that just beckons you to complete it, and most gamers will not be able to put this one down. Those that feel the hack-n-slash games are a bit repetitive, I'd still recommend checking out BG:DA II due to its great combination of gameplay and overall presentation. True fans of the series will not be disappointed and should pick this one up with no question.
And the second is at GameSpy with an overall score of 3/5:
When I last previewed the game, I was convinced that more of a great thing would be an even greater thing. I thought Black Isle would do as fine a job with the series as Snowblind did. I was wrong on both counts. While Dark Alliance II is a good game, it has barely progressed the series and from everything I've seen, it looks like Snowblind will kick its ass with Champions of Norrath. Unless you must have an action-RPG this very second or you're a huge Forgotten Realms fan, I'd pass over or rent Dark Alliance II. You can beat it in under ten hours and there's a better action-RPG coming out in the near future.
