Computer Games Romania finds it worthy of a 91/100:
I also admired the talent with which the developers have managed to transform the already existent assets, without tiring the player: the Armored Ogre is just one such example, another being the spectral dragon, a pulsating version of the original model, which is just as fresh as a piece of new content because he decomposes in wisps to regenerate his health. Not to mention that the Darkspawns themselves seem less impersonal with their newly found opinions.
So I have to penitently admit that Dragon Age: Origins Awakening made me aware of my own prejudices. The final aim of any video game might be to sell like hot cakes, but the financial aspect mustn't and actually can't always numb the creativity of a studio. Especially when it comes to Bioware.
While Spawn Kill slaps it with a 7.0/10:
Game completionists will have plenty to do in Awakening, from potion-making to helping out with an Apostate problem in the city of Denerim. As far as the sound goes, BioWare once again provides great voice acting and a decent soundtrack. The music isn't anything that hasn't been heard before, but still sets a fantastic backdrop.
Die-hard fans of Dragon Age will either be repulsed or impressed, but for $40 I felt as though I didn't quite get my money's worth. The story is over much too quickly and the glitches were frustrating to have to deal with. For an expansion it passes but is marred with flaws, and I can't help but think that it could have been so much more and of better value. With a patch and a discount, Awakening could be an excellent expansion to an incredible game.
