Fans of EverQuest will no doubt want to give this a shot, as well as fans of the genre. However, I would say that the demo would be more than enough. I simply cannot recommend this game to anyone. It fails at taking its role as a strategy title seriously, at combining elements to make it not so much rely on the strategy aspect, and being a game someone would want to actually play through. Just go and get Reign of Chaos if you don't already have it, at least then you'll get a better representation of what it feels like the developers were going for.
And the second is at Gamer's Pulse, where the game received a slightly higher 36-40 score range:
Lords of Everquest generally succeeds in blending its popular role-playing world with real-time strategy gameplay for a unique title. The ability to develop individual units, in addition to a central lord, makes the game an attractive offering for those seeking compensation for their gameplay efforts. While the role-playing elements serve as the strongest aspects of the game, the balance of play falls slightly behind with an underdeveloped tech tree and pointless lord abilities. Undoubtedly, the game's technical flaws prevent it from upholding its solid gameplay; namely, the severe issues related to the game's framerate and rendering make playing the game extremely frustrating. For those whose systems have been chosen, Lords of Everquest is a beautiful game that should please those lucky enough to play it.
