Walkthrough
Your goal in this quest is to rescue Arlos ar-Kerran. You'll find him in the prison (#9),
but his position is random, so you might have to look through all of the prison's 16 cells
before you find him. When you reach Arlos, he'll let you know that his brother Venn was
taken to Clan Tunnelworm. Rescuing Arlos will complete the first chapter in the
quest line. The second chapter will involve looking for Venn.
1 - Starting Point
2 - Closed Door
You won't be able to go through this door (and reach the exit) until you've rescued Arlos from the prison (#9).
3 - Chief Kraskuth (Random Boss)
4 - Gate
To open this gate, you'll need to activate the nearby intelligence rune. 14 intelligence is enough for the rune. Beyond the gate, you'll find two bedraggled prisoners. Talking to the prisoners will complete the "hidden prisoners" optional objective.
5 - Gate / Lever
The gate here (#5) will start out open, but sometimes the kobolds beyond it will pull a lever (#5a) to close it, locking you inside once the battle starts up. If you get shut out of the room, or if the gate shuts and everyone beyond it gets killed, then you won't be able to get back into the room. Fortunately, the Gnashtooth Bloodletter (#6) is optional, so missing out on his room will just cost you a pair of chests and a little bit of experience.
6 - Gnashtooth Bloodletter
Killing the Gnashtooth Bloodletter will complete an optional objective.
7 - Lever
Pulling the lever here will open the cell doors on the upper level of the prison (#9). It will also generate a kobold ambush to the east.
8 - Lever
Pulling the lever here will open the cell doors on the lower level of the prison (#9).
9 - Prison
The prison contains 16 cells on two levels. To open the cells, you'll need to pull the two levers (#7 and #8) just outside the prison. Inside the cells you'll find three bedraggled prisoners (the "other prisoners") and Arlos ar-Kerran. Their positions are random.
10 - Warden Arkik (Upper Level)
Killing Warden Arkik will complete an optional objective. You'll also find a treasure chest at this position.
Note: Warden Arkik will repeatedly re-spawn, but you'll only gain experience points for killing him the first time.
11 - Underwater Door
If you go through this door, you'll find yourself in a small area containing eight zombies and a treasure chest. The zombies will re-spawn over time.
