After the crucial choice, if you have chosen the path of dark side, some of your NPCs won't agree and you can fight them.

Xor will be there the next time you'll go with Juhani to one of the trigger points mentioned by Adm. Pellaeon.

as for bastilla, can you get her to help you fight malak or at least turn her to your side for good or bad?

You choose whether to save her or not. If you do so, she refuses to go and fight Malak. You have to defeat him by ...

Really? Maybe you could specify under my post "HK's stats"?

I"ve repaired HK-47 only 3 times and I don't remember the bonuses (I don't have my save game where I've done it any more).

It's worth repairing HK-47 : he'll gain bonuses he can't have if he recovered his memory by himself.

If you want to hear the story and keep the Pearl without killing the Sandpeople, there's a solution :

duplicate the Pearl on Manaan before giving one to the chief.

I had the same bug but it occurred on Tattoine.

Fortunately, I saved before it happened.

"Shivan knight?" Is that a reference to Freespace 1 & 2, Hinduism, or Indiana Jones?

Shivan is a reference to "Shivan Dragon", a card from Magic : the Gathering. Here is a picture :

Sometimes, while walking with you party, your NPCs start chatting.

I don't know how you can trigger those dialogues and I'm wondering how many there are.

I found :

- Bastila & Canderous : 1 dialogue
- Bastila & Carth : 2
- Bastila & Jolee : 1
- Bastila & Mission : 1
- Canderous & Carth : 1 ...

I gain levels manually ; I saved them because I wanted more Jedi powers.

When I saw the bug, Mission, Zaalbar, T3-M4 had ~28 000 Xp. When I checked before leaving Tatooine, they had ~41 000 Xp and I could level them up. And yes then, there was the higlighted option.

I did use Mission and Zaalbar in some fights just after noticing the problem and neither Carth or Canderous gained XP.

I continued the story all the same with Bastila and Juhani. And effectively when I was going to leave Tattoine, I checked again the NPCs I don't use and they've gained a ...

I continued until I landed on Tatooine and no changes.
When Juhani and HK-47 joined the party, they were level 7 and 8.
The situation is definitive. I have to choose the NPCs I want to make progress.

Well as far as i know xp doesn't directly influence your companion's level. They allways keep one level away from your main character, or close to it.

Well, that's the way it should be. However, my main character is level 10, Carth & Canderous level 9 and the others level 8.
Only the NPCs I use ...

I play on Xbox.

On Dantooine, my party was Carth & Canderous. During the Jedi trials, Canderous reached level 9. So I switched him with the other NPCs (Mission, Zaalbar and T3-M4) to level them up. But I noticed they haven't gained XP since Taris ! Same thing with Bastila when I got her back.
