Thanks I figured it out, just after I'd posted, but now am having major problems defeating the demi-lich. Like major problems. I keep dying!!

I've just spoken to the Golem leader about getting the power source to set them free. I go down the stairs but then can't get any further as a ring of magic surrounds you when you try to reach the door at the end of the corridor and keeps teleporting me back to where I was originally.
