HOTU - Golems Problem

I've just spoken to the Golem leader about getting the power source to set them free. I go down the stairs but then can't get any further as a ring of magic surrounds you when you try to reach the door at the end of the corridor and keeps teleporting me back to where I was originally. How do I get past this?

Hint:

Check out the body in that area. What he has on him is a clue as to what you should do....

Thanks I figured it out, just after I'd posted, but now am having major problems defeating the demi-lich. Like major problems. I keep dying!!

My monk ruled it, with all the resists he had, but (I'm sure you did it already) make sure your character is fully buffed from what your henchmen and yourself can do, if worst comes to worst, use potions of Heal, might take a few of them, but it always works....
